I recently switched over to the Mac world to do some video and music recording and have begun with a little iMac 1.8 G5 and 1GB of ram. I picked up an EDIROL UA-25 for the USB music interface and have been mucking around with garage band etc. Playing keboard and guitar through it. If I was to record our band just for kicks, would I be better off with ProTools LE 6.4 for the software end of it, or would you all recommend something like Cubase or Logic.

I am talking about the low end of these programs or lite versions as am not to interested in spending piles of cash on something just to record some band tunes. Would the protools LE software work with the EDIROL USB interface to record or is it solely dedicated to an Mbox?:!.

I have an Edirol UA-25 and I love it. I named it Henry, he is perfect all I need to do. I don't mic up drum kits, all I ever really need to do is a guitar and a vocal/horn at any one time. He has phantom power, and can power both inputs at any one time if I need him to (not that I ever do). The is no latency, he's great. I can also plug my midi keyboard in if I need to.

EDIT: I've also dropped him a million times, and I think I might have also spilled a hot chocolate on him. He is a rock solid little performer. NEVER had any problems.
